Our Story
Initially founded in 1998, this woman owned indie business was born from the need for serious hand and nail care. Years of working 8 to 12 hour days as a nurse was beginning to take it's toll on my hands. Constant hand washing, horrible commercial soaps and drying alcohol based sanitizers were causing the skin on my hands to become so dry that deep cracks formed on my fingers. My nails were always breaking and peeling. The creams and lotions commercially available provided temporary relief for the dry skin but provided no solution for my peeling nails.
In 1994 I became a registered manicurist and had access to a wide variety of spa products and treatments yet still had the same problems. Several times I tried applying artificial nails but the chemicals in the products would make the skin around my nails red and irritated.
When I couldn't find products that worked I began researching natural ingredients and products online. There was plenty of information available including recipes and supply companies. After making and testing numerous recipes I finally developed an incredibly rich, all natural body butter that not only made my hands soft but greatly reduced the cracked skin. Handmade soaps that didn't strip the natural oils from my skin like the commercial ones did helped to solve the problem completely. My nails even stopped peeling and finally began to grow. When my family and co-workers saw what a difference these items made they begged me to make some for them. With so many requests a small business was born. Unfortunately, when our family grew with the addition of two more children, and my husband's work hours changed, the business needed to be set aside for a while.
During the hiatus from my business venture I continued to dream about offering the products that had helped me to others with the same problems. With my youngest child soon to enter school full time I now have time to focus on rebuilding my business. I take great pride in the high quality ingredients and careful craftsmanship of each and every product I make.
